*** Sites is not being updated because of a lack of users.

I started this in 1996 in order to provide information to FedEx employees on the 401k.
Much of the information was difficult to find, and many users were not that familiar with the internet.
That is no longer true. Vanguard has made much of the information readily available, and
poeple are more familiar with the internet and finding investment information.

In the past two months, there have been fewer than 10 visitors, so it is not worth my
time to update the page anymore.

I thank you for visiting the site.

NEWSLETTER RECOMMENDATIONS (as of Mar 15th): ** See Note below **

NOTE: These are NOT my recommendations, only a consensus from several investment newsletters. As such, each investor should conduct their own research as to the best fund for their specific situation.

NOTE: I have no connection with this newsletter, and receive no monies at all from the company. I list it here because it focuses 100% on the FedEx 401(k) funds (for all employees, not just pilots). However, there are other newsletters out there (some listed on the various links pages). These include Vanguard Advisor, Fabian, Vantage Point, Navigator Newsletter, Morningstar, and more. All the other newsletters deal with all Vanguard funds (and often other fund families) and not just those in the 401k. All have different methodologies, meaning that each newsletter is a matter of preference. The Express Advisor works on moving averages (see the Performance page graphs) for buy and sell and so is sometimes slow to recommend buys (it will not catch the top of the market or the bottom of the market). It follows what is called technical analysis (Magee is the primary author of this concept [Technical Analysis of Stock Trends], further developed by John Murphy - (Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets: A Comprehensive Guide to Trading Methods and Applications). The Fabian newsletter follows a similar concept using a moving average to make buy and sell recommendations. Other newsletters are more fundamental and use the economic models of the U.S. and some international models.

OK so what does all this mean? It means you use these tools and any newsletters or websites you like to make informed decisions. The recommendations listed above are compiled from six newsletters, with commentary added at times to explain the differences. Other than true bull or bear markets, the newsletters generally NEVER agree on all the funds, meaning the process is very subjective and each individual has to find a model they like. Mark Hulbert rates every financial newsletter out there, so you can get a good idea of the success of the "plan" that each newsletter follows. Good luck!

See the Info page for suggested allocations and fund descriptions.
